Michael Waltz is a decorated soldier and influential policymaker, known for his service as a Green Beret and his role shaping U.S. national security policy.

Born in 1974 in Florida, Waltz graduated from Virginia Military Institute and served 27 years in the U.S. Army Special Forces, including multiple combat tours. 

Waltz earned four Bronze Stars, two for valor, during deployments in Afghanistan, the Middle East, and Africa. He was the first Green Beret elected to Congress. 

Waltz represented Florida’s 6th District from 2019 to 2025, serving on Armed Services, Foreign Affairs, and Intelligence Committees in Congress 

In 2025, Waltz was appointed National Security Advisor, advising the president on defense, intelligence, and foreign policy during a critical period.
